PROGRAMME NO 02 - PALACE ON WHEELS


(Delhi, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Jaipur, Amer Fort, Chittaurgarh, Udaipur, Sawai-Madhopur, Ranthambore National park, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bombay)
Sunday-01 Arrive Delhi. Meeting & assistance at the airport. Transfer to hotel Ashok or Le-Meridien.
Monday-02 Full day visit of Qutab Minar, India Gate, Lakshmi Narayan Temple & drive Past President's House & Parliament House. In Old Delhi, visit Raj Ghat, Shanti Vana, Jama Masjid & drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Hotel Ashok or Le-meridien.
Tuesdy-03 Drive to Agra. Afternoon visit the Taj Mahal built by the Mughal emperor Shahjehan for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal, Red Fort & the Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah built by Empress Noorjehan. Hotel Taj View.
Wednesday-04 Morning drive to Jaipur enroute visiting Fatehpur sikri - built by Emperor Akbar but abandoned due to scarcity of water. Hotel Raj Palace.
Thursday-05 Morning excursion to Amber fort, the ancient capital of the state until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir, jai Mahal and Temple of Kali. (checkout from the hotel at 1200 hrs.) Afternoon visit the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall Museum, Ram Niwas Gardens and drive past Hawa Mahal & through the Pink Residential / Business areas of Jaipur. Later join the Palace On Wheels. Departure for Chittaurgarh at 2210 hrs.
Friday-06 Arrive Chittaurgarh at 0730. Breakfast on board. Visit of Chittaurgarh. Leave for Udaipur by Coach. Lunch at Lake palace. City tour, leave for chittaurgarh by coach. Dinner on board. Departure for Sawai-Madhopur at 2200 hrs.
Saturday-07 Arrive Sawai-Madhopur at 0630. Breakfast at Castle Jhoomar Baori. Visit the game Sanctuary. Return to train. Departure for Jaisalmer at 1230 hrs. Lunch & dinner on board.
Sunday-08 Breakfast on board. Arrive Jaisalmer at 0900 hrs. Visits. lunch at Gorbandh palace. evening visit Sam Sand Dunes + Camel ride. Dinner at Moomal tourist Bunglow. Departure for Jodhpur at 2330 hrs.
Monday-09Breakfast on board. Arrive Jodhpur at 0900 hrs. Leave the palace on wheels. Transfer to hotel Umaid Bhawan Palace. Afternoon city tour visiting the Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, and the Museum.
Tuesday-10 Morning free or excursion to Mandore. Later transfer to airport for Bombay flight. Arrive and transfer to hotel president.
Wednesday-11 Morning city tour visiting Kamla Nehru Park (Hanging Gardens) on the slopes of Malabar Hill, with a view of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhawan, Dhobi Ghat, Gateway of India and drive through the Crawford Market, Marine Drive and Flora Fountain. Check-out at 1200 hrs. Afternoon free. Evening transfer to airport for return / onward flight.
Thursday-12 Departure.
